Dr. Houck is from Cincinnati where he went to medical school. After finishing residency at Washington University / Barnes Hospital, he entered private practice in St. Louis. He has been with Obstetrical Associates since 1994. His hospital staff privileges are at St. Luke’s, Missouri Baptist, St. John’s, and Barnes Hospitals.
Dr. Houck was very impressed with the compassion of the OB/GYN residents he met while in medical school which influenced him to choose this field of specialization. While in training he achieved the following honors: honors at Brown University in Biochemistry, AOA (honors in medical school), administrative Chief Resident, and Best Teaching resident.
“I have enjoyed being a father, husband, and physician at the same time.” Dr. Houck’s family has touched the medical field in multiple ways. His wife is an RN, his youngest daughter is in medical school at Mizzou, and his father was a physician. Dr. Houck enjoys music, gardening and has been a Boy Scout leader. He maintains his fellowship in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Central Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Missouri State Medical Association, the St. Louis Gynecological Association, and the Maternity Hospital Society. Dr. Houck was the President of the St. Luke’s Hospital Medical Staff in 1999-2000, a previous President of the St. Louis Gynecological Association, and Director of the St. Luke’s Hospital Laser Laboratory. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
